The Naskapi Development Corporation held its board of directors election today. Polls were open from 8:00 AM in the morning to 5:00 AM in the evening at the Naskapi Community Center.
Four seats on the board were up for election. Here are the results.
Elected and re-elected to the board:
- Robin Shecanapish: 115 votes (elected)
- Edward Shecanapish: 102 votes (re-elected)
- Martha-Mary Shecanapish: 102 votes (elected)
- Nathan Uniam: 91 votes (re-elected)
The other candidates and their vote counts:
- Nigel Einish: 66 votes
- Susan Uniam: 56 votes
- Michael Sandy: 46 votes
- Lucy Guanish: 46 votes
